Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire

As far as nature-inspired weekend getaways go, it doesn’t get much better than Franconia Notch State Park. This park is in the White Mountain National Forest and is famous for the Flume Gorge, Echo Lake, and the aerial tramway at Cannon Mountain. Other fun places to check out here are the Franconia Notch Bike Path and Echo Lake Beach. Plymouth, Massachusetts

The Block Island National Wildlife Refuge is located here, and you’ll see historic lighthouses and cottages lining the coast.
